Sterling St. Open House

Sterling_houseBrownstoner has their open house picks for this weekend (including one in PLG), but for us it's this house on Sterling St.  Sterling is definitely one of our favorite streets in PLG - and that's not because we have friends who live there.

Though not in the Manor, Sterling St. has gorgeous trees and a wider range of colors to the homes than you typically see in the Manor.  And, to some extent, being outside the Manor can be advantageous; rental income suddenly becomes a possibility once outside the territory of the deed covenant.  Who knows - maybe the basement could be a decent studio?

At $879K this house ain't cheap by our standards, but we're quite curious to know what it's really like on the inside (broker pics don't quite count).

Yeah, that price is a little out of wack, but houses on that Sterling b/w Rogers/Nostrand (arguably a less desirable block) went in the low $700k range about a year ago.

I am actually considering 29 Chester Court. Any onfo on the area or the house woudl be greatly appreciated. (We'd get that ugly paint off the firplace)

TAG,

You might want to post this question on the Yahoo Lefferts list as well--it's kind of buried here at the end of an old thread.

i really am interested on things like this one,,,an open house,,,but ill be more interested if manor sterling st, will do the open house

IF I understand what "Home Remodeling Ideas" is saying (langage problem, perhaps?) I think he/she would enjoy the PLG House Tour on June 3rd, with homes both in Lefferts Manor AND other PLG blocks.
