Seeing this photograph of the Prospect Park platform on Planet PLG reminded us of our local subway station's appearance. Its colors change with the time of year; our favorite time of year for our stop is Spring, when the mosses and molds that grow on the concrete walls shine in garish shades of green, yellow and orange.
Though Prospect Park Station doesn't have the charming grape vines of Cortelyou Road, our stop is full of aesthetic surprises. It brightens our otherwise drab commute.
it certainly would be nice if the station at 15th/PPW were even clean and not smelly. i'm envious.

Funny you should mention this now, b/c I was just wondering today when the northern end of our fair station is going to be "renovated" or updated--or, hell, even painted all the same color (preferably something other than the nauseating putty color(s) it's been hiding under for years now)... While I sort of like imagining that the walls are somehow alive (and who's to say they aren't?), I do sometimes envy the nice tiles of Parkside Ave...
