A generous long-term resident sent us some old photos of PLG. To address your first question, 1993 is OLD to us.
The first photo is of the Prospect Park stop before Maple Street School existed on the premises. In its place was the Seoul Grocery and what appears to be the site of nuclear fallout. The second photo shows the extremely low price that pizza fetched back in the day. You may also notice the old mural on the Lincoln Rd. bridge, pre-reconstruction.
Too bad there aren't any real estate ads making a cameo in either photo... then we could all have a good cry over the amount we've paid for or homes.
So does this mean there's hope that some of the nasty fast food restaurants may disappear one of these days? Or is that a lost cause?

I think the houses were around 200K in 1993. But prices were down in 93-94, They started going up in 1997 and haven't stopped.
