A group of PLGers banded together on Sunday, March 25 to rid parts of the hood of graffitti. The group, 15 to 20 strong, successfully painted security gates for 15 businesses on Flatbush and Parkside Aves. Apart from being mistaken for petty criminals assigned to community service, a good time was had by all and spectators expressed their appreciation.
The organizers plan to get out there and paint at least twice per year. Stay tuned for more details.
Wow - what an ugly bunch. But at least they are improving the neighborhood.

It seemed like more than 15 to 20 people out there, though maybe that doesn't include the cops? This was a joint effort with the NYPD...
It was actually a pretty fun morning, thanks to the nice weather. The two hours flew by. My only complaint: I can't seem to get the last of this gray paint off my hands!
I hope this will be instituted as a semi-annual event. Many thanks to those who organized.
